Adelaide Baroque presents a day event which explores the diverse sacred and secular music of J. S. Bach. Immerse yourself in the sublime music of Bach and experience the exquisite acoustics and surrounds of the Ngeringa Cultural Centre.
The day will comprise two contrasting concerts separated and complimented by an al fresco dining experience with shared platters of seasonal fare from Ngeringa. Special highlights of the performances include the Harpsichord Concerto in F minor BWV 1056, two compelling Cantatas, the stunning Sonata in D Major for Viola da Gamba and Harpsichord and movements from Bach’s solo repertoire.
Adelaide Baroque has gathered other specialist musicians from around Australia to join them for this exciting day of Bach at Ngeringa. The performers include vocalists Emma Horwood, Matthew Rutty, Ben Whittal, Corin Bone; instrumentalists Laura Vaughan, Ruth Wilkinson, Katrina Brown, Glenys March, Jayne Varnish, Lynton Rivers, Simone Slattery, Emma Woolcock, Emily Dollman, Sarah King, Anna Webb, and Kate Morgan.
Adelaide Baroque is a core organisation of Chamber Music Adelaide, which was created in January 2013 to facilitate and support the performance of chamber music in Adelaide. CMA is supported by Arts South Australia and the Australia Council, and has six other core organisations – Ensemble Galante, the Firm, Kegelstatt Ensemble, Recitals Australia, Soundstream Collective and Various People Inc.. CMA exists to sustain and develop a high quality, dynamic independent culture of chamber music in Adelaide and seeks to broaden national recognition of the chamber music ensembles active in South Australia.
