Are you a classically trained musician looking to adventure beyond the traditional? Are you interested in exploring how your formal education can merge with different and contemporary genres and communities?

Dots+Loops is thrilled to offer six violinists, three violists, and two cellists the opportunity to work alongside leading post-genre and classical musicians in a supportive yet professional atmosphere, culminating in a headline performance of Max Richter’s Vivaldi Recomposed at the Dots+Loops Nonstop Festival.

Sound like your jam?

Complete the online application form, where you will be asked for:

• A current CV;
• A short biography (200 words maximum);
• Links to two recordings of recent live performances on your instrument (at least one must include video);
• A short artist statement explaining why you want to participate in this fellowship, and what you are hoping to get out of it.

You will work with Kyla Matsuura-Miller (violin), Jonny Ng (violin), Henry Justo (viola), Louise King (cello), and the Dots+Loops team Kieran Welch and Flora Wong. This will include being guided through preparing parts, performance mentoring before and during professional-level intensive rehearsals in Brisbane from 4–7 December, and a headline performance at the Dots+Loops Nonstop Festival on December 7 at Newstead Brewing Co. Milton.

Fellowship places are tuition fee free, thanks to the generous support of the Australia Council for the Arts, the Queensland Government, the Brisbane City Council and supporters of the Dots+Loops Nonstop Australian Cultural Fund. Fellows are to organise their own travel and accommodation if required. Questions? Email hello@dotsandloops.com.au.
