New to Melbourne Recital Centre’s offerings is Sanctuary – an escape from the brisk winter weather where audiences bask in the warmth and nurturing ambience of live music. Encompassing three events over two days, audiences are invited to experience a sonic exploration of reflective, thoughtful and meditative music.  

On Friday 8 July, James Howard’s Ancestral Redux explores the intersections of Country, culture, politics and identity.

On Saturday 9 July, Sanctuary Suite presents an afternoon of aural delight in the sonorous Elisabeth Murdoch Hall featuring Lady LashZoe KnightonNick TsiavosMindy Meng Wang (Melbourne Recital Centre’s 2022 Artist in Residence) & Paul Grabowsky, and Nat Bartsch & Luke Howard.

On the same day, Audience of One offers an otherworldly opportunity to explore the sound of a solo instrument as a solo audience member.

First Nations programming by Yorta Yorta, Dja Dja Wurrung, Wiradjuri, Ngurai Illum Wurrung man Neil Morris (DRMNGNOW).
