On April 23, Noctiluca Arts will present Wild Things, a concert to benefit Resound, an organisation dedicated to replacing musical instruments lost in natural disasters.

Founded in 2009 during the Black Sunday bushfires, Resound’s current efforts address the flooding and instrument damage at the Northern Rivers Conservatorium in Lismore.

Lee Dionne will help raise funds after this natural disaster.

For this special event, Noctiluca Arts will be partnering with The Independent Theatre in North Sydney, presenting a wild and beautiful program of works for flute, cello, and piano, ranging from Irish traditional music to the jazzy harmonies of Nikolai Kapustin, to contemporary Australian composers Ross Edwards and Alex Pozniak — also featuring works of Brahms, Poulenc, and Kuhlau.

Cellist Chris Pidcock.

Performing in the concert will be Noctiluca artistic director and flautist Rosie Gallagher, cellist Chris Pidcock of Opus Now and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, and a special guest appearance by United States-based pianist Lee Dionne of the Merz Trio.

All proceeds will support Resound. For more information and tickets visit noctiluca.org.
