ANAM musicians make old music with modern instruments

CONTENT COURTESY AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL ACADEMY OF MUSIC

Before music became a practice in the homes of connoisseurs and skilled amateurs during the 18th Century, it occupied a more exclusive domain. In the Renaissance and Baroque eras, sounds of beauty, elevation and piety were created at enlightened courts and churches.

ANAM musicians — armoured with modern instruments and awareness of all the music created ever since — explore places such as Elizabethan England and papal Rome to bring the music of these amazing centuries to life again.

Hear Renaissance and Baroque Stories 4 at 3pm October 26 in The Good Shepherd Chappel next to Abbotsford Convent.
