Melbourne trio (oboe, bassoon, and piano) Ensemble Françaix was crowned first prize winner of the 2019 Queensland International Chamber Music Competition in July. Celebrate with the trio as the musicians mark this collaborative milestone with complete performances of their prize-winning programs, along with colourful tales of the preparation and competition experience, and their creative vision for the ‘double-reeded piano trio’.

The program features works by Francis Poulenc, Jean Françaix, André Previn and Ian Whitney.

Ensemble Françaix features Emmanuel Cassimatis (MSO, MCO), Matthew Kneale (MSO, TSO, OV, Arcadia Winds) and Nicholas Young (Finalist ABC Young Performers Awards 2011).

See this performance on August 25 at Tempo Rubato.
