It’s a full year for the Sydney Youth Orchestras – and with the launch of their brand new group, the Western Sydney Youth Orchestra – it’s only going to get bigger.
There will be plenty to get out and see this month alone, so we’ve put together a list of events for you to rock along to – and don’t forget you’ll get a ticket discount to each of them when you join us!
The Engine Room of Excellence. City Recital Hall, 12.30pm March 15
Sydney Youth Orchestras is the premier orchestral training organisation in New South Wales, comprising 12 orchestras and ensembles. SYO’s orchestral training program equips its members for careers as professional musicians, as well as teaching teamwork, discipline, dedication, leadership and a commitment to excellence. The Sydney Youth Orchestra brings to life the great works of Mozart under the direction of Artistic Director and Chief Conductor Alexander Briger. This concert features the winner of the SYO 2017 Concerto Competition, Olivia Hans-Rosenbaum, performing Mozart’s much-loved Clarinet Concerto.
Autumn Showcase – SYO Strings Program. St Mary’s Cathedral College, 11am March 25
The Showcase series provides a friendly performance opportunity for students of all ages.
