In the bohemian decadence of this cabaret, not everyone is who they appear to be under the spotlight. Discover what happens when jealousy, infatuation, and mistaken identities cross paths in the last hour before the curtain goes up. Will anyone make it out with their hearts and dignity intact?

As they navigate the everyday dramas of working in the theatre, complications of the heart rise to the surface. As the pressure mounts leading up to their curtain call, jealousies and heartache rise to the surface, threatening the whole company and the success of the performance.

Director Ian Warwick is one of Operantics’ founding members, having performed the role of Don Alfonso in Operantics’ production of Cosi fan tutte (2015). Ian recently directed, designed and wrote an English adaptation of the original German libretto to Johann Strauss’ Die Fledermaus for Operantics (2017).

Soprano Georgia Melville is in her third year of a Bachelor of Music (Performance) majoring in Voice at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. She regularly performs with Sydney-based classical song company Voci Stupende, touring regional NSW.

Soprano Amelia Golding holds a Bachelor of Music from The Queensland Conservatorium of Music and recently completed the Advanced Classical Singing program at the NZ Singing School.
Soprano Jessica Blunt is studying at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and made her Operantics debut last year, playing a sassy Ida in Die Fledermaus.

Soprano Carli Partdridge has performed in Australia and Germany on the concert, oratorio and opera stage. As a member of the Opera Queensland Chorus, she performed various operas and recorded the Opera’s Greatest Choruses CD for ABC Classics.

About Operantics

Operantics is an artist-run independent company founded in 2015 to bring innovative musical productions to audiences at a reasonable price, removing the cost barrier that prevents many people from giving classical music a go. The company has supported more than 50 young artists and creatives to date, and has presented two Australian Premieres. Caught Between the Sheets & Stagelights is the company’s first cabaret.
