Sam Gill is an emerging young artist involved in the Sydney improvised music scene. He performs and composes for a number of ensembles in Sydney as well as leading his own creative projects Sam Gill Quartet and Scattered, and recently completed his final year of undergraduate study at Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Gill’s music seeks to the blur the line between through-composed and freely improvised music through the development of modular compositional structures and ensemble-generated improvisational strategies.
