MEET THE TALENT BRINGING YOU ISSUE #2

Our second print edition is about to make its way across Australia! As we prepare, we bring you our showcase of talented emerging arts journalists who have come together to share some incredible stories about the new generation of composers, performers, and arts administrators.

Carissa Dyall started her musical journey at a tender age with learning to play the violin and piano. After being caught several times plucking her violin with a pick, her parents decided it was best for her to learn classical guitar. This backflipped on them when she shunned medicine and law, deciding to study music instead, specialising in classical guitar performance. Despite the weekly existential crisis, she enjoys and is grateful for the challenges and diversity that come with being part of the arts.

Carissa enjoys developing her skills in arts management and journalism, while attempting to squeeze in practice time on her guitar. There is never a dull moment.

When she’s not contemplating the future of the arts in Australia, Carissa spends her house deposit on specialty coffee, smashes avocados, and tries not to kill her houseplants – a true #millennial.

Read Carissa in our print issue #2! You can catch up on our inaugural print magazine, which is now available online only for a limited time.

Our inaugural print edition was released in 2018. We’re excited to bring you issue #2! (Above: our editor Stephanie Eslake with Tasmanian Youth Orchestra’s Lauren Foreman, p.19)
