MEET THE TEAM BRINGING YOU CUTCOMMON'S FIRST EVER PRINT EDITION

We’re going to print!

In 2018, CutCommon has launched its first ever print magazine. And as far as we know, it’s also the first street press publication in Australia dedicated to sharing the stories of young and emerging classical musicians.

You’ll be able to pick up a copy of CutCommon’s physical edition for free when you visit one of the 50-or-so venues in our roving launch. (And if you subscribe to CutCommon, we’ll also post one straight to your door.)

To celebrate, we continue to bring your our print magazine writer line-up. So join us as we reveal the talent working hard behind-the-scenes to craft this bold new national magazine.

WRITERS IN PRINT!

Christopher Leon, TAS

Tasmanian composer and music producer Christopher Leon was named a semi-finalist in the 2017 Tasmanian Young Achiever Awards (arts). He graduated in 2013 with a major in Music Technology from the University of Tasmania. In 2011, he worked on a team to produce the score for American feature film Christmas With The Dead, and in 2013 was responsible for scoring three TV commercials for the state government.

Since picking up the guitar at age 12, Christopher has performed his own classical and Flamenco influenced guitar compositions across Tasmania and has swept through multiple genres on his way to electronic and orchestral music production. He now holds the position of production assistant with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra.

In 2017, Christopher hosted his booked-out workshop The Science of Sound at the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery for National Science Week, and performed an original DJ set for the BeakerSt@TMAG celebrations. He’s since performed at the Moonah Arts Centre’s Friday nights series, the Light Up the Lane street festival, Platform Magazine launch party, and at the Falls Festival in Marion Bay.

Christopher Leon is also our Global series coordinator, and in-house music technology expert. He can master your recording, or give you a Skype mentoring session to teach you how to do it yourself.
