MEET THE TEAM BRINGING YOU CUTCOMMON'S FIRST EVER PRINT EDITION

We’re going to print!

In 2018, CutCommon will launch its first ever print magazine. And as far as we know, it’ll also be the first street press publication in Australia dedicated to sharing the stories of young and emerging classical musicians.

You’ll be able to pick up a copy of CutCommon’s physical edition for free when you visit one of the 50+ top-secret venues in our roving launch, which we’ll announce soon enough. (And if you subscribe to CutCommon, we’ll post one straight to your door.)

But leading up to our 2018 launch, we’re going to bring you our writer line-up – so join us as we celebrate and reveal the talent working hard behind the scenes to craft this bold new national magazine.

WRITERS IN PRINT!

Kane Moroney, SA

Kane Moroney is on a mission to make the arts attractive, adaptable, and sustainable in the long-term. In a world filled with uncertainty, Kane considers what the future of the arts organisation might look like through the lenses of innovative business practice, programming, and experience.

Kane grew up in rural Victoria with a deep passion for classical music and holds a Bachelor of Music completed through Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, and the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

After starting a successful specialty coffee business in 2014, Kane couldn’t ignore his urge to return to a career in music. Kane has been fortunate to experience orchestras around the world, and time and again the intangible power of music. His passion to share this experience with others motivates him to continue to develop, learn and be inspired to pursue an exciting future for the arts.

Through his work as Audience Development Coordinator at the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, he is exploring the challenges of audience connection and participation. What are the barriers and opportunities for arts organisations to grow new audiences without excluding and/or alienating mature audiences? He seeks to understand how workplace culture and environment can impact organisational responses to these challenges and can facilitate positive change. He believes that by creating an environment that inspires our artists and colleagues to do their best work together, the arts can thrive even in challenging times.

In 2018 Kane has been selected to participate in the Australia Council for the Arts’ Future Leaders Program with colleagues from around Australia.

Kane’s journey into classical music is actually pretty amazing. He wrote an interesting blog about it – check it out.
